Grandma’s Pork w. Shang Gan & White Pepper 白辣椒香干炒肉– A true Hunan classic—succulent pork stir-fried with aromatic shang gan tofu and the gentle heat of white pepper, just like Grandma made it.

It’s been way too long — the last time we joined the fun was 2018, and we’re fired up to be back! On Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 12–4 PM, pitmasters will battle it out for the crown of Best Ribs in Town. You’ll get to taste, cheer, and cast your vote while enjoying the best BBQ vibes around.
Expect smoky ribs, live music, kids’ crafts, and plenty of finger-lickin’ fun. We’ll be serving up Sumiao favorites alongside some of Cambridge’s top restaurants, so bring your appetite.

💜 The Silk Road Gala is more than a night out. It’s a powerful fundraiser hosted by ATASK, the only organization in New England with a multilingual hotline and shelter for Asian survivors of domestic violence. The event raises vital funds to provide safety, support, and hope for those rebuilding their lives.

Fernando Ufret is an accomplished singer and guitar player, now based in Boston, who regularly performs on tour. Known for his calming musical style and exceptional talent, he skillfully reimagines both rock hits and modern favorites through his silky voice and expert guitar work. Originally from Puerto Rico, Fernando will be performing at Sumiao Hunan Kitchen on September 3rd during the 6-9 PM time slot.
