Hello, October!

October is a month of changes. As the leaves are turning and the weather gets crisper, we’re ready for a beautiful season. And with a new season brings new changes all around. First up, we wanted to share that our menu will be facing a price increase. As COVID-19 is still affecting all of us, there are many food and labor shortages as well as inflation. Because of this, there will be a slight increase on our menu. We hope you understand and continue to support our restaurant.

Happy Birthday, Sumiao!

We want to take a moment to wish our founder, Sumiao Chen, a wonderful birthday. This incredibly hard-working, loyal, loving, and kind woman is an absolute joy to work with. Her dedication to our restaurant makes us work hard and cooperate like a team to make sure we all succeed. Wishing you another year of happiness, success, and love! We appreciate you!

In the Spirit of Halloween

Are you as excited for Halloween as we are? We love getting into the spirit and are so excited to have the restaurant decorated. Bring on all the orange, pumpkins, skulls, and creepy spooking decor!!

World Vegetarian Day

On October 1st, we celebrate World Vegetarian Day. Here at Sumiao Hunan Kitchen, we pride ourselves on having a great variety of vegetarian dishes. Many of our dishes can also be made vegetarian upon request. Here are some of our favorites.

1. Spiked Peanut Butter Whiskey – Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, hot apple cider, cinnamon stick
2. The Black Widow Smash – tequila, fresh blackberries, rosemary, lemon, honey, orange bitters, soda water
3. Pumpkin Pie Martini – pumpkin vodka, maple cream liqueur, lemon, simple, cinnamon powder, cinnamon stick

Do you enjoy trying a variety of drinks? Why not try one of our new flights. Choose from a Japanese Whiskey Flights (above) or our Flavored Sake Flight. The Whiskey Flight includes three types: (Suntory Toki / Suntory Hibiki/ Nikka Coffee Grain) for $33.
