As summer starts winding down, we’re looking forward to cooler weather, with new dishes, drinks, and desserts to gear into fall. Who’s as ready as we are for a new season?! This month is full of amazing things at Sumiao. Let’s dig right in!

New Month, New Cocktails

Sit on the patio and enjoy the crisp fall breeze with one of our new cocktails:

  • Galaxy Moonlight – prosecco, osmanthus flower syrup
  • Game Day Sangria – hard apple cider, white wine, apple cider, ginger ale, lemon
  • CC Tonic – gin, ginger beer, ginger simple syrup, lime
  • Fall & Summer – tequila, fig preserves, ginger syrup, orange juice, rosemary

Foodie Holidays Galore!

This month we’re celebrating three foodie holidays: National Peanut Day on 9/13, Pancake Lovers Day on 9/26, and National Dumpling Day on 9/26. Here are a few dishes to celebrate with:

  • Hop Hop (farm-raised rabbit meat, dried crispy red pepper, peanuts, mini red chili)
  • Kung Pao Shrimp (shrimp, onion, peanut, green & red pepper, dried chili)
  • Scallion Pancake
  • Sumiao Gyoza – pork gyoza, vinegar sauce

These four dishes make a perfect meal for two, so grab a friend and come on in!

National Food Service Employees Day

On September 25th, we celebrate our incredible team for National Food Service Employees Day. But first, we want to give a warm welcome to Jessica, our newest manager at Sumiao and addition to our partnership. She has been a wonderful addition to the Sumiao team and we’re very lucky to have her.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our incredibly hard-working team. We are so proud of each and every one of our employees and are glad to call them family.

New Sweet Treats at Sumiao

This month we’re featuring a variety of ice cream and sorbet from Bedford Farms and Toscanini’s. Each week we’ll be featuring two ice cream flavors and one sorbet on our menu. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see the flavors of the week.

Join Us at Our First Puer Tea Event

On Sunday, September 27th, we’ll be hosting our first event to showcase the beauty of Puer Tea. But what is Puer Tea you ask? Pu’er (or pu-erh) is a variety of fermented tea traditionally produced in Yunnan Province, China. At this fun, interactive event, we’ll be featuring a tasting menu of teas along with sweet treats and light bites of Hunan cuisine. We’ll have more details later on in the month!
