Restaurants and businesses across the country are all struggling, right now, together. But, we’re also working together each and everyday to find new, outside-the-box ways to get through this, together.

But this is nothing new for most mothers. Moms, especially badass business moms, have been rolling up their sleeves and working collaboratively to problem solve since probably forever.

With that said, we’re very excited to announce a new collaboration with Tous Les Jours Bakery, a fellow “mom-owned” business based in Natick!! Starting this week, SHK fans will be able to order fresh baked goodies from Tous Les Jours for pickup/delivery with your favorite Hunanese from Sumiao.

In case you hadn’t heard of them, Tous Les Jours is a widely-popular French/Asian inspired bakery concept that originated in South Korea. The Natick Tous Les Jours is only the 3rd to open in MA. It’s also the newest. After a year of planning + work, Eva DuChang, President of TLJ-Natick, opened her shop in the Natick Mall this past October while pregnant with her second child. Four months later, Covid-19 closed off the Natick Mall and curtailed a great deal of Tous les Jours’ catering business. Throughout, Eva and her hard-working team have kept the lights on through online orders and their amazing network of fans. With this new collaboration between Tous les Jours and SHK, we hope to keep that business growing.

Because mom’s helping mom’s so you can get some more tasty noms?
What could be sweeter than that…

Under normal circumstances, Mother’s Day is one of the busiest days for restaurants across the country. The reason is simple: we all have mothers, grandmothers, and other strong moms in our lives and we want to treat them to a nice meal on their day.

Well, we may not be able to gather together like we have in the past, but this Mother’s Day you can still treat mom to a special feast without the cooking and dirty dishes!! Sumiao’ kitchen will be open for takeout and delivery orders all day. In fact, new rules allow us to sell wine to-go for the first time, so…best Mother’s Day ever?

With that in mind, we’ve prepared a short guide to some of the food/wine pairings and other Mother’s Day goodies we’ve put together to help make this an extra special day for your mom!

Who would’ve thought spicy Asian cuisine would go so well

with a bubbly Prosecco?

Recommended: Canella Prosecco

This sparkling Italian wine boasts a crisp, clean overall profile with a mild nose exhibiting touches of citrus. The bubbles (or mousse if you want to be fancy) are a bit larger than you might expect (if you were expecting Prosecco’s French cousin, Champagne). Combined with Canella’s distinctive creamy, mineral finish, these bubbles will wash over your tongue, providing a perfect counterbalance to the spiciness of the long horn peppers and heaviness of the pork belly in our Grandma’s Pork. A perfect serving size for one for your own, personal Mother’s Day celebration!

Looking for something lighter for mom?

We have put together an assortment of some truly great teas from Teaforte (6 flavors) and Organic Numi (2 flavors), now available to add to your pickup / delivery orders. If you’re looking for something sweet to nibble on with the tea, we’ve also teamed up with a fellow “Mom-owned” business, Tous les Jours Bakery, in order to offer you a selection of head baker / owner, Eva, freshly baked French/Asian inspired macarons and other baked goodies.

Catching up with mom over a cup of tea and some mom-made macarons on Mother’s Day, what could be better?

Still don’t know what you’re going to give a worldclass mom such as yours?

Nothing’s more real than a meal!

Treat her to a Sumiao’s Gift card, so she can treat herself!
